Welcome to RSM Collective. I'm Revell and my team and I have been designing homes since 2003. This collective experience and our knowledge of the design and construction industry means that we are a small efficient bespoke design firm with a big business experience and project history. We work as a team to come up with great design solutions for your home design, renovation or commercial fitout project.

So, let's start by getting to know each other.......

​Years ago, with more hair on my head and less on my face, I left my comfortable manufacturing job to pursue architecture. My dad convinced me it was the right path, and after four years of study and various odd jobs, I earned my qualification, eager to chase a career I imagined would be full of glitz and glamour.

Finishing ahead of my classmates, I sought summer jobs for them and myself, walking into several architecture offices. One encounter stood out—Peter Beaven. Initially dismissing me, we ended up chatting for hours. Unexpectedly, he offered me a job—not based on a portfolio, but on his belief that architecture is about people, not just buildings. He saw in me something he couldn’t teach: the ability to connect with people. I turned him down (begrudgingly). With flights booked to Melbourne the next week, I was off ona big jet plane heading for the bright lights and energy of Melbourne.

After a brief stay there in Melbourne (overnight), I spent the next decade in Queensland, navigating various design and project managment roles, learning from mentors and getting a strong understanding of commercial architecture and construction. Over 20+ years, I’ve worked on large-scale projects—hospitals, churches, apartments, military buildings, shopping centers—gaining insights that now shape my approach to residential design.

Now, I’ve started my second design firm. Having run an office in New Zealand from 2015 to 2022, I value agility and intellect over size. While awards may come, our priority is creating well-considered, functional, and aesthetically strong homes. It’s a collective effort—from clients to builders to consultants—driven by a distinct method and vision.
